Remember the story of King Midas and his touch of gold? Turns out that King Midas was a real person! Find out when he lived, what he was like, what happened to him, and how archaeologists are exploring his story at this very moment.

Discover the secret behind the REAL King Midas—yes, the one with the touch of gold. He was a real person!

During this special evening with author Colleen M. Story, you'll hear answers to these questions:

• Who was King Midas? (A ruler, but of which kingdom? Come to find out!)
• When did he live—what period of history?
• What he was like—was he really greedy?
• Who was his main enemy?
• Why did the Greeks create the myth about him (and his touch of gold)?
• What is happening right now—today—that involves King Midas and his capital city?
• What happened to the king in the end? What happened to his kingdom?

Two weeks before the event (starting about May 20th or so) Winnie & Mo's Bookstore will be hiding “golden tickets” around the store. Those who find them will be entered to win one of three prizes at the event!
