Para cruzar las montañas Owyhee y entregar suministros a Boise, las mulas de carga eran esenciales. Fue un trabajo peligroso y vino con una serie de desafíos. Pero alguien tenía que hacerlo, como Jesús Urquides. Aprenda sobre la vida y el legado de Jesus Urquides en Idaho durante el próximo evento Nuestras Voces el 29 de julio a las 6:00 PM. Este es un evento virtual gratuito presentado en español. Los panelistas Ana Maria Schachtell, Educadora y Activista Cultural y Max Delgado, Maestro de Historia Norteamericana compartirán con Maria Ortega, moderadora del panel, sobre la vida de Jesús Urquides y su impacto en la comunidad hispana de Idaho. Para participar en el evento, puedes enviárnos tus preguntas previamente al correo electronico events@ishs.idaho.gov o puedes participar directamente el dia del evento. Antes del evento, recuerda que puedes apoyar al fondo de becas para estudiantes latinos de el College of Idaho, con la compra de una botella de vino de Bitner Vineyard. It was a dangerous job and came with a host of challenges. But someone had to do it, such as Jesús Urquides. Learn about the life and legacy in Idaho of Jesús Urquides during the upcoming Nuestras Voces event on July 29th at 6:00 PM. This is a free virtual event presented in Spanish. Panelists Ana Maria Schachtell, Educator and Cultural Activist and Max Delgado, United State History Teacher will share with Maria Ortega, Visitor Services Representative at the Idaho State Museum, about Jesús’ life and impact on Idaho’s Hispanic community. To participate in the audience Q&A portion of the event, you can email your questions ahead of time to events@ishs.idaho.gov or submit them live during the event.
