On a typically dreary Spring Day, the spirit of giving shone brightly as the Festival of Trees (FOT) Board members illuminated the atmosphere at DWI. Celebrating the culmination of their 57th Annual event held in November 2023, FOT President Mike O’Bleness, alongside dedicated Board Members, presented a monumental check of $83,000. This was only possible due to the generosity and support of the community.
DWI CEO McKayla Matlack, along with DWI Board Members and members of the DWI Client Association, gratefully accepted the donation. DWI plans to allocate the funds towards procuring state-of-the-art equipment vital for vocational training, skill development, and recreational therapy. Also, DWI will support organizations with similar missions such as Champ’s Heart, Field of Angels Baseball, Bike for Kids, Camp Hayden, and Explorer Post 559 - Special Needs Troop for Adults. Representatives from these organizations were present to receive their support.
DWI is a nonprofit agency serving the Eastern Idaho community for over 50 years with a mission of assisting individuals who have disability or who are disadvantaged to recognize and achieve their chosen level of economic and social independence.
