Live performances of the Idaho Falls Symphony are thrilling in more ways than one. The music that captures our imagination is created by the synchronized motions of the musicians and conductor. Those physical and emotional thrills reach a whole new level for the upcoming 2024 Red Dress Concert: Cirque de la Symphonie!

This remarkable group of Cirque performers takes the stage with the Symphony on Saturday, February 17th, for the 18th Annual EIRMC Red Dress Concert, an event designed to raise awareness of Women’s Heart Health during American Heart Month.

Cirque de la Symphonie was created to bring the magic of Cirque to the concert hall. The troupe includes talented physical artists from exceptional Cirque programs around the world—aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen. Each performance is professionally choreographed to unique musical programs that feature a full-sized orchestra, including selections from Broadway and Romantic opera to John Williams and movie music.

Audiences from all walks of life are encouraged to attend this once-in-a-lifetime performance. Watch as the Cirque performers achieve impossible physical feats while experiencing the power and beauty of the greatest music ever written for a Symphony orchestra. Cirque de la Symphonie uses the energy of the music to maximize those unexpected moments, causing audible gasps from the audience and leaving us breathless from start to finish.

Of course, the health benefits of music extend far beyond the heart-pounding thrills of Cirque de la Symphonie. Our musicians are like athletes, they spend countless hours training on their instruments, dedicating themselves to their craft, and making sure they have the physical and mental stamina to deliver excellent performances in high stakes situations. And at the Idaho Falls Symphony, we like to talk about how exposure to live music can be life changing—even changing our physical beings at a cellular level! Our minds are filled with the ideas and images conjured by the music, and especially during this 74th anniversary season, called Reverie, the experience of the Symphony will transport our listeners and inspire their hopes and dreams.

Cirque de la Symphonie joins the Idaho Falls Symphony for one night only: Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at 7:30pm. Tickets and information are available at www.ifsymphony.org. Our friends at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center remind everyone to take care of themselves through exercise and a healthy diet, and to learn more about heart health at www.eirmc.com/hearts
