When it comes to planning your big day, Chris Davis, owner of Wildfire Entertainment, has helped hundreds of people celebrate by providing meaningful connections during every special moment. With over 15 years’ experience in the industry, Davis covers the details couples don’t always think about. As an entertainer, Davis helps couples avoid stress on their wedding day, coordinating moments only made possible by years of experience in the event industry.
“We do some really fun things, and we excel in making weddings special,” Davis said. “I don’t see anybody else that is doing quite the same thing as us. Underneath all the decisions we make is the emotion. All of our decisions are driven by our emotions, and in an industry like the wedding industry where you’re dealing with really important moments, it’s important to be in tune with those.”
To illustrate, Davis doesn’t see the music as just another background item to check off for the event. “Music is to accentuate the moments, not create them,” he said “We are playing memories that happen to have music attached to them.”
The Secret Sauce
As part of planning for the special day, Wildfire Entertainment also loves incorporating couples’ stories. Since most guests only know a portion of the couple’s story, Davis does what he can to share that with them. This helps everyone in the room to get to the same place emotionally. His goal is to get all of the guests rooting for this couple to take the next step.
“At the core of it all, we use our ‘secret sauce’ to make our weddings unforgettable,” Davis said. “The biggest thing that differentiates us from other companies is the level of coordination and planning that goes into the process. We think of ourselves as planners and coordinators that happen to be great DJ’s and MC’s.”
Advice for the Future Mr. & Mrs.
According to Davis, receiving lines may no longer be a smart way to handle your special event. Lines often create patterns of waiting around, and that’s not a good way to start a party.
Instead, Davis recommends finding other ways to celebrate the couples’ relationship with guests during the reception. This allows the party to roll full steam ahead and avoid any snags caused by time restraints or tired partygoers.
Wedding Trends in Idaho
In light of COVID-19 developments, Wildfire Entertainment embraced the changes weddings would now require. In order to ensure the safety of their guests, every employee is tested before an event, they wear masks and socially distance as much as possible.
Another trend the pandemic brought forth in the wedding industry was destination weddings and micro-weddings.
“Since Idaho was the first to open up, people came here to get married, and it has really catapulted us forward,” Davis said. “Micro-weddings have also become popular because they allow for those moments to be more intimate instead of performing for a ton of people. Those who are there, are there to experience it with their family.”
Davis adds that smaller weddings allow for more extravagant food, the ability to step up the entertainment, and more importantly, for couples to spend more time with guests as opposed to feeling rushed.
“It’s a lot more relaxed here and people have time for conversation,” Davis said. “Since the events in Idaho tend to be more relaxed, and it allows for people to have really beautiful moments.”
