Who are the Idaho Falls Newcomers? The group (composed mostly of retired seniors) has been in Idaho Falls since 1985, hosting a range of events for people of all backgrounds and interests. Activities range from regularly scheduled social outings to occasionally more formal events. Idaho Falls Newcomers also has two semi-annual fundraising events in support of a chosen charity, which is currently Meals On Wheels.

 Weekly Activities:

1st Wednesday: Morning coffee and treats are held in a member’s home. This meeting frequently has a guest presenter.

2nd Wednesday: Book club meeting

3rd Wednesday: UnWine’d, held in the late afternoon at various locations around town

4th Wednesday: Out to Lunch

The group also hosts “Out ’N Abouts.” In support of community events or just for fun, any member is welcome to suggest an outing at any time and for any reason. Examples include local art shows, the Idaho Falls Parade of Homes, trips to museums in town or in the vicinity (followed by lunch or cocktails), tours of INL, outings to Shoshone Falls, art project get-togethers and afternoon movies.

Semi-annual events include luncheons with auctions occurring in May and November. This year’s Fall Luncheon will be held at the Idaho Falls Country Club on Nov. 3, and is open to members and guests who have been vaccinated.

The group also keeps members informed with monthly newsletters, text updates and emails.

There is an annual membership fee of $12.
