Idaho Falls Magazine has just released the results of its annual East Idaho Community Photo Contest, providing an exclusive look at the 2021 winners ahead of the publication's official photo contest issue, which will arrive on doorsteps in August.
The contest has seen more participants than ever before, with several hundred submissions from around the region. Categories of submissions include Birds, Sports & Recreation, Nature & Wildlife, Portraits, Scenics and an Open category for any other submissions.
Winners receive bragging rights, prizes and have their photos featured in the pages of the magazine.
“Although this is a departure from in-person award ceremonies of the past, we believe winners, contestants and readers alike will enjoy tuning into this special video highlighting our 2021 winners,” Editor Emily FitzPatrick said. “Our former editor, Steve Smede, is a talented videographer who has used his talents to create a video highlighting all of the winners, allowing people near and far to enjoy the wonders of our region.”
The contest was launched by the magazine in 2009 and has since watched it grow to be a community-wide event. The August issue of the magazine is now the best performing digital issue of the year, drawing the attention of readers not only in East Idaho, but from across the country.
This year's contest sponsors include Grand Targhee Resort, Willowtree Gallery, Sportsman's Warehouse, Bank of Commerce, Avcenter and Eagle Rock Indian Motorcycle.
