BLACKFOOT -- The City of Blackfoot Public Library Summer Reading Challenge is on with the Challenge-opoly Game! Now, through August 1, 2020, readers of all ages are able to visit the Blackfoot Public Library, located at 129 N Broadway in Blackfoot, to pick-up a game board and begin their journey to victory!

Since the library was unable to host their traditional summer reading program, readers will take their game board home and complete challenges alone or with family members. Challenges on the game board are fun and include activities from ‘Making Popcorn and Watching a Movie’ to ‘Go Camping.’ Each challenge, including a reading log and participating in weekly Chance and Community Chest activities, will result in points that are converted to Challenge-opoly bucks, and drawings to win a ‘Property Basket.’ Challenge-opoly bucks may be used to purchase prizes at the Challenge-opoly Store, which will be open August 3-15

Summer ‘slide’ is always expected, and usually results in up to a 1⁄2 grade level drop in reading skill level; however, this year, experts anticipate that the ‘slide’ may be even greater. Library staff has developed this Challenge-opoly game in an effort to encourage those of all ages to continue to read and enjoy time with family and in the community.

Stop by and visit the Blackfoot Public Library today to pick up your Challenge-opoly game board and begin your journey. For questions about this program or other Blackfoot Public Library activities, please call 208-785-8628.
