Idaho Falls is full of little safe havens where you can catch a break from the fast-paced world that surrounds our relatively rural community. One of those places of refuge is The Sandpiper Restaurant right along the river on Lindsay Blvd.

The restaurant is a staple to the area. Established in Idaho Falls in 1974, The Sandpiper Restaurant has witnessed many changes as the Idaho Falls community has grown to encompass a wider range of faces. Growth has propelled the restaurant, known for its seafood and steak, into a position as one of the top fine dining spots in the area. A combination of well-placed location and delicious meals make it formidable competition for other establishments in the area.

“We have the prime time location right on the river,” shared Jeff Keller, Assistant Manager. “We have a great atmosphere, quality food and service. We try to get the best available product and we take pride in what we make and how we take care of our guests.”

Steaks and fish are flown in daily and hand cut on-site, making your meal as fresh as possible. This is an especially important detail when you consider how far inland Idaho Falls is located compared to other small cities.

Keller shared, “Seafood-wise, our crab legs are the biggest available. I don’t think you’ll find bigger ones in town at any other restaurants. We pay a premium for them. All of our steaks are great. We get prime-grade when it’s available and cost effective.”

However, these dishes aren’t the only you’ll want to try. You’ll also want to peruse their menu of salads, soups and desserts. And, you won’t want to forget to ask the staff about the daily specials or recommendations for wine pairings.

Take your meal outside and admire the scenery along the river for the full experience with your family and friends. And then make plans to come back so that this spot can become your own little safe haven.
