The powder that blankets Grand Targhee Resort (averaging more than 500 inches per year) is what most people are originally drawn to, but the culture and community keep locals and visitors alike returning for generations. Grand Targhee Resort is entering its 50th winter of operations and to make sure you get the most out of your visit for years to come, here’s the rundown of some of the amazing things the resort has to offer.

With over 2,600 skiable acres for exploration, a location far from the crowds of other high-profile resorts, and featuring its own unique #TargheeVibe, Grand Targhee Resort continues to keep the ski and snowboard experience authentic. Most importantly, this snow paradise is about a two-hour drive for those in the Idaho Falls area, making Grand Targhee the perfect winter destination. Grand Targhee Resort kicks off the winter season on November 16, 2018.

Wondering what to do on your snow day adventure?

You’ll rack up some vertical feet as you cruise through the nonexistent lift lines and explore open bowls, gladed trees, terrain parks, and more. Feeling the need to break even further from the pack? Enjoy bottomless powder turns from the hike-to terrain off Mary’s Nipple. Still seeking a need for powder? Book a day on the cat and enjoy Wyoming’s only cat-skiing operation. You and 11 other skiers or riders will be exploring the 600 acres off Peaked mountain. On top of skiing and riding, you’ll find 15km of groomed Nordic track, nearly 5 miles of single-track fat bike trails, snowshoe tours with the resort naturalist, tubing, Friday night S’mores, avalanche dog demos and much more!

If you are looking for the best value on lift tickets, check out their 4-Pack. You’ll save $72 off four regularly priced adult lift tickets. Catch is, this special only runs through November 15. If you are looking to ride more than 4 days, make sure to mark you calendars for spring. Season passes will be on sale and at their best pricing of the year.

Don’t just make a day trip, turn it into a weekend getaway. You’ll find some great lodging specials including 20% off new reservations; lodge three nights and kids 12 and under ski free!

Traveling with kids?

Grand Targhee offers an abundance of ways to keep them entertained and ready for every snow day. You’ll find single day options or multi-week programs that will improve skills, independence, and give them a chance to explore the mountain. All ages multi-week ski and snowboard lessons are offered with experienced, fun-loving, and certified instructors. They’ll explore the Kids Adventure Zone and beyond.

If your little skiers or riders are growing out of gear quicker than you can buy it, here’s the solution! Grand Targhee’s season lease program will keep your growing little ones outfitted in the correct gear week after week, no matter the growth spurt. Packages for skiers and snowboarders are available for just $150 for the season and include discounts on tunes!

Traveling with little adventurers that are not quite ready to hit the slopes? Grand Targhee Resort’s licensed child care center is the perfect place for your child to have fun and play. Child care is open to children ages 2 months to 5 years.

Fifty years in and there’s a lot to celebrate.

Grand Targhee’s calendar is packed with powder clinics, inspired dining events at the Branding Iron Grill, fat bike races, live music at the Trap, and much more!
