Close-knit communities dot the map from coast to coast and common connections between the best cities known for their local charm are the iconic businesses that have been around for decades serving those around them. Staker Floral, once known as Staker Photo & Floral back in 1957 when Gerald and Letha Staker first opened the doors, has deep roots here in Idaho Falls and has been providing a much-needed service for over 60 years.

Their son Lee Staker and his wife Jean eventually took over the business and they were involved in the decision to relocate the shop from D Street to its current location on 17th Street in the early 80s.

Today, Betsy Monson is the second family to own the floral shop after purchasing the business from the Stakers 20 years ago this November. The 20th anniversary for Betsy is a celebration worth recognizing as she looks back on not only how far the flower business has come in her time as the owner, but her own growth as a first-time business owner as well.
