After finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing at American InterContinental University, Travis Snowder began his professional career as a junior calibration technician at Qal-Tek Associates. Snowder has always believed in the combined value of excellent customer service and high quality work. This mindset thrust him into sales and eventually sales management. During his tenure, he molded a rich, customer-centric culture within the growing organization, leading to a growth of 1,200+ clients between 2002 and 2007.

In addition to his belief in this foundational culture, he saw an opportunity to make a difference in an industry desperately searching for new solutions. This vision made him Chief Operations Officer in 2007, and he began building the platform to provide the solutions needed. He developed a new line of services, expanding the business to offer a complete scope of radiation safety services. This expansion has called on Qal-Tek to offer such revolutionary solutions to some of the largest governmental and commercial organizations in the United States. In 2011, filling a gap in Qal-Tek’s solution-based business plan, Snowder orchestrated the purchase of WB Johnson Instruments, one of the oldest names in radiation detection instrumentation, and brought it to Idaho Falls. Since this acquisition, WB Johnson has expanded its instrumentation line to provide a higher standard in radiation detection, through incorporating applied end-user operation.

Snowder recently acquired Qal-Tek Associates and now serves as President/CEO of Qal-Tek Associates and WB Johnson Instruments. He has guided these organizations with a culture of continual improvement and upon this base, has seen them grow to 1,800+ clients across the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe with offices in Idaho, Texas, Arizona, New York and Georgia.

Raised in Rigby, Idaho, Snowder loves the outdoors and especially southeast Idaho. “I have seen just about every corner of the United States, and nothing beats Idaho,” he said. He and his beautiful wife, Jodi, live in Ammon with their two little girls, Ridlee and Kaida. In his rare spare time, he enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, surfing and playing basketball. Snowder believes in the ability of todays’ young entrepreneurs, and especially the youth of Southeast Idaho. He sees a region full of smart problem solvers seeking the opportunity to offer the world new solutions. “In today’s world, new ideas drive change and that change is difficult, but that can never be an excuse to avoid it,” he said.
