With October quickly coming to a close, now is the time visit the best Halloween haunts near Idaho Falls. Whether you are looking to get scared, or you are just looking for a fun family activity, we know the place for you.

Here are the top-five Halloween attractions to visit before October ends, ranging from most family friendly to scariest.

Boo at the Zoo

This event will be held at the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park October 28, 29 and 30. The park will open at 5 p.m., and the gates will close at 8:30 p.m.

Admission to Boo at the Zoo is $5, and all guests under the age of three are free.

This event allows guests to participate in several events, including: a costume contest, trick-or-treat stations, games and crafts, while viewing the beautiful Halloween decorations featuring over 500,000 lights.

Wild Adventure Corn Maze

This maze, located in Blackfoot, features over three miles of trails across 10 acres of corn. Some of the mazes top activities include: Farm Scene Investigation, a corn cannon, a barrel train and much more.

Admission to the corn maze is $10 for guests 12 and up and $5 for guests 4 to 11.

In addition to the corn maze, there are several other exciting events worth attending, including a pumpkin carving contest and a Zombie Apocalypse Fun Run October 24.

The Straw Maze

The original Idaho straw maze provides one of the scariest adventures for all who choose to enter. Located in Rexburg, guests can begin by entering a haunted straw maze and finish the adventure by walking through a haunted forest.

Though the main attractions at this location are haunts, during the day, there are plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy, including: a straw-bale play area, a straw tower and hay rides.

Admission to the event during the day are $6 for guests 12 and up, $4 for guests 5-11 and guests 4 and under are free. For the haunted attractions, $9 for guests 12 and up per attraction, $7 for guests 5-11 per attraction and guest 4 and under are free.

The Theatre of Lost Souls

Many Halloween attractions try to create a haunted experience for their guests, but at The Theatre of Lost Souls, it really is haunted.

Located in Shelley, this attraction invites guests into The Virginia Theater, which many Shelley residents claim is truly haunted. Some believers claim to have seen dark shadows, a little girl dressed in all white, a tall man with a beard and many guests have heard unexplained whispers and crashes.

Guests who believe they are brave enough to enter the theatre can pay $9 on weekdays and $10 on the weekend.

Additionally, attraction management says the event is not recommended for children under the age of 10, and no one under the age of six will be admitted.

Dr. Slaughter’s Carnival of Fear

Dr. Slaughter’s, the largest haunted attraction in Idaho Falls, promises its guests will leave with nightmares.

This year’s attraction offers more haunts than ever, including and expanded 3-D maze, additional scare areas and newly-designed areas for your favorite characters for added terror.

In addition to the haunts, this event features performances from the Living Dead Dance Team.

Admission to this event is $10 per person, and guests who wish to skip the line can pay $13 for Fast Track Tickets.
