For a town that relies so heavily on the science mindset, Idaho Falls makes a great venue for any film that advances the value and purpose of engineering.

The traveling film, Dream Big: Engineering Our World, is set to play at the Colonial Theater next Thursday and Saturday with the aim of elevating students’ understanding of engineering and its important role in STEM education.

A trio of screenings – all free – will be held along with presentations from local engineers. In addition to the activities at the Colonial, the Museum of Idaho will host an Engineering Day.

From the City of Idaho Falls press release:

“From the Great Wall of China and the world’s tallest buildings, to underwater robots, solar cars and smart, and sustainable cities.  Dream Big celebrates the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels, big and small, and reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people around the world.”

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper saw the movie earlier this year and was left “captivated and inspired” by its message. “Since then, I’ve been determined to bring the movie to Idaho Falls with the hope that it will also inspire youth and families in our community,” she said.
