Now in its twenty-second year, the Snake River Cutthroats' signature event showcases the talent of local flytyers and celebrates the art of flytying with local fisherman. It’s one of largest and the most respected shows of its kind in the entire country, showcasing flies for trout, salmon/steelhead, bass/warm-water, salt-water, still-water and exotic species.

Although the expo’s emphasis is on fly tying demonstration, it also highlights all aspects of the art of fly fishing. The show offers free casting instruction, a full lineup of commercial exhibitors and workshops that cover subjects and techniques from basic to highly technical.

Attendance at most workshops fetches a modest price tag, but the Expo itself is free. That includes a number of youth activities, destination overviews, technique programs and the show's highly popular "Fly Tying Theater" -- a live, ongoing multimedia presentation that features professional tiers and their specialized creations. In the general exhibition area, attendees can observe and interact with 100-plus tiers from around the country as they exhibit their craft.

Capping off the annual celebration will be a banquet Saturday, 5 p.m. at the Shilo Inn. For more information on banquet pricing, the dinner's live auction or other details for this year's show, contact the expo at srcexpo@gmail.com or visit www.srcexpo.com.
