Nine area 4-Hers have spent the summer gentling and training yearling mustangs for a trail challenge, freestyle show, and adoption into new homes. This event is usually held at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, but Covid restrictions required a change in venue to ensure adequate physical distancing. On Saturday September 12, the 4-H’ers will compete in an in-hand trail challenge at 10am, then show off their mustangs and answer audience questions in a freestyle show at 2pm. At 4:30pm, the mustangs will be offered for adoption in a live competitive bid auction. The 4-Hers, the mustangs, and BLM staff will be at the fairgrounds Friday Sept. 11 and Saturday Sept. 12, so potential adopters can view the horses and complete an adoption application prior to the auction. Come out and support local 4-H youth and possibly take home a great started yearling mustang!
