String art has been around for a while; it was popular in the 1970s, but it is enjoying a comeback as a simple and fun way to make your own artwork. This retro craft requires very few materials and is an inexpensive way to add some personality to your walls. We're starting with a small 11 x 14 inch pine panel (pre-sanded and routed smooth) that will fit a standard photo mat and frame.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a beginner-level craft for ages 14 to 104.* A brief ice-breaker will be followed by an assembly demonstration. Then you'll be hammering away with help as requested. All designs are created by Bear & Blue, measured for consistent spacing, and pre "drilled" on the lasers to make straight-hammering easier. Stringing wire can be quite difficult as it loves to bend and twist where you don't want it to. So if you'd like to use embroidery floss instead, we will have plenty available.

WHAT'S SERVED

Two drinks are included (more may be purchased). Choose from alcohol or non-alcohol. (Must be 21 to enjoy alcohol, of course.) You may bring snacks if you like.

ADVANCED PURCHASE REQUIRED

Due to the custom nature of our projects, we ask that attendees purchase tickets in advance. Kits will be assembled to your specifications. Additional kits may also be ordered in advance so you can go home and make more racks.

*AGE RESTRICTION

Attendees must be 14+ years for this particular class (all classes are different). Ladies younger than 18 must be accompanied by a legal adult. No children under age 14 may be present in the workshop for this class.

CAPACITY

Capacity at Wine Women & Wood classes is currently limited to 20 attendees. Classes will be hosted in the Bear & Blue workshop, which is a working creative studio run by a manic artist. So please do not expect a clean, sterile environment. You will be surrounded by works-in-progress for the manufacturing side of the business. We recommend wearing comfy clothes and shoes. Stains are possible with certain projects!
