Battelle Energy Alliance, the company that manages and operates Idaho National Laboratory, offers an annual funding opportunity for local and regional nonprofit organizations. The grants are open to charities across the region, with a focus on support for rural and underserved communities.

“We are proud to support the region where our employees live, work and play,” said John Revier, INL’s interim director of Community and Regional Engagement. “The grants elevate organizations providing critical services in a time when many families are hard-pressed to make ends meet.”

The 2023 grant application is available here on INL’s website. The electronic form for charitable donations will close Oct. 1, 2022.

BEA provides corporate donations through the INL Community Giving program to support agencies that focus on health and human services, environment and sustainability, veteran and civic activities, and culture and the arts.

“The program enables agencies working on behalf of children and the underprivileged,” said Misty Benjamin, INL Community Relations & Philanthropic Program manager. “We are deeply invested in our community, and committed to funding programs that feed the hungry, provide shelter to those in need and help families get back on their feet.”

Community grant applications will be evaluated based on the community impacts and service area. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities. Applicants must include a copy of the IRS tax-exempt letter and a W-9 form.

Since 2005, BEA has invested in nonprofit agencies working on behalf of underserved populations throughout the region.

Organizations with questions about the application process should contact misty.benjamin@inl.gov.
