Idaho Falls is known for many things—the falls the city is named after, its high population of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (known throughout the world as Mormons), its status as a major commerce and technology hub for Eastern Idaho and more. One thing it is lesser-known for is having some of the cutest pets in the region.
For the second year in a row, Idaho Falls Magazine has requested for residents to submit their cutest pets and as always the number of submissions far outnumbered the available space. Here is just a sampling of some of the cutest pets throughout the region:
1. Sage: Sage is our long-haired Siamese. She has a twin sister named Sassy. She loves going on family hikes and hanging out with chicken friends.
— Katy Prestwich
2. Margie: Margie is a 7-week-old dachshund. Spoiled is an understatement.
— Teresa Marie Loyd
3. Sheba: Sheba is a 2-year-old English mastiff mix. She’s great at being lazy, but can be surprisingly quick and agile if she wants to be.
— Karen Christensen Wells
4. Gomer: We found Gomer when he was just a tiny baby. He is now 16 years old and finally starting to slow down. As you can see, he is a snuggly boy and that tongue always slips out while he sleeps.
— Lori Young Gallup
5. Marley: Marley is a 1-year-old spunky English springer spaniel. She is so full of energy and loves to fetch.
— Kimi Snapp
6. Darby: Darby couldn’t be a happier dog. She loves, loves, loves all people. She is an adopted shelter puppy, now 7 years old. We think she is a kelpie mix.
— Patty Ford
7. Jax: My 2-year-old Doberman pinscher. I call him my ‘velcro dog’ because he won’t leave my side. He loves hiking and naps.
— Devany Noblit
8. Birdie: Birdie is my 14-week-old Boston terrier.
— Loretta Humpherys Meyers
9. Tom: Tom is a cat. Haha! We found him as a tiny kitten in the middle of the road. We had to bottle feed him for a week, but he’s a healthy young man now.
— Pam Dargie Kantack
10. Johnny Cash: Johnny Cash is a long-haired dachshund just coming up on a year old. He is an old man at heart and perfect for our little family!
— Colleen Vincent
11. Duke and Ruby: Duke is the dog, adopted 10 years ago from a shelter. The cat “sharing” the chair with him is Ruby.
— Kim Mathews
12. Yuki: Our golden retriever, having her first swimming lesson! She was mesmerized by the fish. Now everywhere we go with water she looks for fish!
— Kami Jensen
13. Roger: Roger is a border collie mix. He is the smartest, most stubborn dog ever and might be my favorite kid. We sure love him.
— Jen Walton
14. Lucy and Bella: Our best buddies during our empty-nester phase. Lucy is a red fox lab and Bella our crazy chocolate lab.
— Monica Lamprecht Nelson
