Giveaways and sales abound this coming Friday, but perhaps this year you can let the spirit of giving do more than just show your family that you love them. Saturday November 28th marks the 11th annual Small Business Saturday, a day in which you can help your local businesses.

Choosing to buy handcrafted gifts from local shops instead of mass-produced merchandise from global online chains makes more of a difference than you might think. It's estimated that about 110 million people were involved in Small Business Saturday last year; sales were reported to be approximately $19.6 billion. This year, rigorous cleaning processes, limited hours and other measures have been implemented to keep you safe while you shop, but these businesses still need your patronage to keep their doors open.
