2020 is proving to be a challenging year for community events. With safety of the public in mind, the Festival of Trees has retooled its long-standing 46-year tradition.
For 2020, the event will proceed in the following manner:
-
The event will be scaled back
-
and run virtually.
-
Trees will be available for purchase as in years previous, but the crowds of people enjoying trees will be online.
-
A virtual tour will lead participants through the decorated trees.
-
Notes will be posted as to who decorated, donated and purchased the trees.
-
Wonderful Christmas background music will play while viewers meander virtually through uniquely decorated trees.
The virtual tour allows guests to pause and enjoy their favorites without the push of the crowd. All of this can be done in the comfort of their homes or with friends on a shared computer.
Appointments will be available to see the trees in person for those interested in purchasing a tree for their home or business. At this time, the other traditional aspects of the festival (entertainment, kitchen, bakery, etc.) will not be available.
