ISLAND PARK – The Kilgore Mountain Hideaway is hosting a 3-night respite retreat October 9th-12th for mothers and other female caregivers of loved ones that have a disability or illness. This lodge and cabin bed and breakfast offers 7 amazing rooms where guests can enjoy the alpine mountain views and perhaps get a glimpse of elks or moose. Kilgore Mountain Hideaway is located in the secluded Arrowwood Subdivision and is just 45 minutes from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

The Kilgore Mountain Hideaway is also our first “Porch Partner” in the state of Idaho. We are grateful for their support of Idaho’s caregiving families.

This type of retreat is one of many scheduled throughout 2020 that AMR coordinates as part of our mission to provide much needed rest and relaxation to caregivers of children with extra needs across the country. The benefits of proactive self-care have been long overlooked in the disability community. Acknowledging the emotional and physical impacts parents and caregivers face is imperative in ensuring the best long term care to their loved ones.

The mission of AMR is to provide affordable, year-round, in-person respite and fellowship opportunities for mothers and other caregivers of children/adults/spouses with disabilities. Partnerships with inns across the country like the Kilgore Mountain Hideaway will afford guests of the program the opportunity for recuperative rest and rejuvenation.

A Mother’s Rest, as a 501c3 non profit, relies entirely on donations to support our respite events. For more information on this retreat and how you can help, please visit our website.
