For one’s own mind, body and soul, few outdoor recreation activities can match the benefits of playing a round of golf. For Tyson Bowen, the game has also served as a platform to support local causes and help families in need.

In addition to his role as an Assistant PGA Professional and his work with the Mountain West Golf Academy, Bowen has used the game to benefit a number of charities through his annual golf marathon at Sage Lakes Golf Course.

This year’s event is set for May 27.

“I have done two different marathons the past few years to raise money for different charities, including Make A Wish Foundation, with great success,” Bowen said. “I have such a love and passion for the game, and one of my favorite things is to share that with people.”

When Bowen heard about the recent tragic death of Bonneville County Sheriff Deputy Wyatt Maser, he knew he had a local cause worth playing for.

“I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do just what I love — play golf and help this family in a very difficult time,” he said.

For more information about the marathon, Bowen can be reached at 208-612-8535.
