In May of 2001, the citizens of Idaho Falls voted to establish an Auditorium District. The District had the power to charge a 5% hotel tax to generate revenues for the construction of a multi-purpose event center.
Slated for construction in the Snake River Landing area, the Mountain America Center will be a game-changing amenity for Eastern Idaho and will significantly enhance the quality of life for Eastern Idaho residents. The event center will bring concerts and entertainment events for up to 5,500 people, hockey and other spectator events for up to 4,000 people and exhibit space for conventions and expos. The event center will help create 459 jobs and over $121M of economic impact over a 10-year period.
