The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce (GIFCC) has announced its annual Distinguished Under 40 honorees. Distinguished Under 40 is an awards program exclusive to the eastern Idaho area that honors 10 young professionals who have gone above and beyond to accomplish great things in their careers, community and education. To be considered for the award, young professionals are nominated by co-workers, managers and business associates. Winners are selected by a panel of GIFCC past and present board members. Fifty nominations were received this year.

This Week's Spotlight: Clint Reading

A 1999 graduate of Blackfoot High School, Clint attended Chadron State College in Nebraska on a track scholarship and completed a B.A. in secondary education and a M.A. in science education. In his career teaching postsecondary education, he received a Teaching in Excellence award from his students and the Wyoming Board of Trustees nominated him for teacher of the year.

He went on to accept a position as the Associate Dean for Missoula College, where he became heavily involved in dual enrollment, apprenticeship and pathway opportunities. He received honors for his work involving veterans and credit for prior learning initiatives.

When Eastern Idaho Technical College became College of Eastern Idaho, Clint was hired to serve as Dean of Career and Technical Education. Clint is now serving as the co-chair of the Academic Standards Committee.

His future ambition is to own a Tesla just like his boss. His hobbies include running, tacos, the mountains, and being outdoors with his wife Jill and their four kids.
