Learning to play a musical instrument brings more to your life than you can imagine. And here’s the best part: It is never too late to learn to play an instrument or dust off that guitar and get back into playing. Do not let regrets take over and discourage you from enjoying music.
If your interest leans toward the festive sounds of the fiddle, we’ve got a suggestion. Mark your calendar for Sept. 6 and head to Pinecrest Golf Course at 6 p.m. for a greenside concert you’ll never forget.
For the past several years, Joe and Jacie Sites, owners of Sites’ Violin Shop (once in I.F., now in Rigby), have shared their constant love for music with the community. If you’re looking for an opportunity to listen to a top-caliber performance, this open-air concert is just the ticket. Jacie and Joe have earned accolades at the highest levels as grand master fiddler champions.
Their passion for playing is matched only by their dedication to training a new generation of fiddlers, including up-and-comers like Jessa Preston of Blackfoot and Grace Partridge (pictured here with Jacie, center). The two recently took home top division honors for their performances at the Oldtime National Fiddlers Contest in Weiser this summer.
Proceeds from the Sept. 6 concert go to Idaho Falls Junior Golf program. Call Pinecrest 208-612-8485 for more information or to purchase tickets.
