Remember the days of yore when the carnival would roll into town? Those days are back, it seems, but instead of performing under the big tent, they're opting for the big screen.
Get ready for The Joyful Vampire Tour of America on July 5 at the Downtown Event Center. The tour is promoting the indie flick "Bite Me," a subversive romantic comedy about a real-life vampire and the IRS agent who audits her.
Because the tour itself – led by Bite Me’s writer and star Naomi McDougall Jones – is itself so much fun, documentary filmmaker Kiwi Callahan is on the RV-ride too and is making a docu-series about The Joyful Vampire Tour that is being released every Saturday on YouTube for the duration of the tour.
Along with a screening of the movie, the audience will get a chance to meet the filmmakers. Capes, tiaras, wings, and/or joyful attire of all kinds are encouraged.
The movie is simultaneously available to watch on the indie subscription-on-demand service, Seed & Spark, as well as for rental/purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play, so whether folks are able to join for a screening/event on the tour or just want to watch it from their couch, they can participate in the conversation!
The Idaho Falls soiree includes a 6 p.m. Red Carpet Event, 7 p.m. screening and Q&A with the film’s writer/star Naomi McDougall Jones, followed by a 9 p.m. Joyful Vampire Ball. All events are at the Downtown Event Center, 480 Park Ave.
Tickets are $25 for the full evening and can be purchased at https://www.bitemethefilm.com/screenings. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
