From the big screen to stage, it's always a rewarding challenge to bring celebrated classics to a live audience. One genre that works better than most is the musical, especially if the subject matter comes with its own stage presence. We can think of no better example than the heartwarming tale of the world's most beloved ogre.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, “Shrek The Musical” is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale come to life. Presented locally by the Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre, the curtain on this timeless adventure will rise at the Civic Auditorium Nov. 16, 17, 19 and 20. Performances commence each evening at 7:30 p.m., with a special 2 p.m. matinee performance on Nov. 17.
