Looking for a good reason to get your running shoes on? How about racing for a cause, such as saving the lives of local children in desperate need of organ transplants?

“Paces for Payton,” set for April 28, was started a few years ago as a fundraiser to help out a 7-month old Idaho Falls girl who was in desperate need of a heart transplant.

Payton lost her long hard-fought battle in August of 2015, but her family continues to hold a race in her honor and to keep her legacy alive. The main goal: to help bring awareness to the importance of being a registered organ donor.

Proceeds from the race are used to support other families who have a child is going through an organ transplant journey.
