Produced by the Idaho Falls Community Garden Association, the 2018 Organic Gardening Classes are free and open to the public. They are held this year in University Place CHE Building, Room 211.

10 a.m. – 12 noon
Maintaining Healthy Soil: 30 minute video series about the basics of growing/maintaining healthy soil, followed by a Skype session with experienced NRCS soil scientist, Dr. Buz Kloot.

Organic Insect & Weed Control: Learn from experienced local Master Gardener how to organically manage insects & weeds

Vegetable Variety Forum: 4 experienced local gardeners share their favorite varieties of tomatoes, peppers, corn and more. Bring a list of your own favorites and be a part of the discussion!

Quality Time with an Herbalist: Herbalist Dr. Patrick Jones talks about finding, harvesting, and using local medicinal plants.

10 a.m. – 12 noon
Planting for Pollinators: Learn which plants will entice pollinators to your garden. Followed by a monarch butterfly update!

Garden Planning for Southeast Idaho: What to do and when to do it to ensure garden success in our area with Lance Ellis.

Seed Matters! The basics of seed saving and why it matters with Kristi A! Mini-seed swap immediately following – bring some of your own to share or buy tickets to swap for seeds!

9 a.m. – 12 NOON
Learn about the community gardens & register for your own garden spot. Development Workshop Griffith Bldg, 2475 Leslie Ave. Registration begins at 9 am (first-come, first served).
