Kids & Nature Outdoor Writing Contest

East Idaho Outdoors reserves space for kids in the ‘Seedlings’ section of its magazine. That’s where you read about kids in nature. Well now we want our stories about kids to be written by kids. That’s why we’re launching the Kids & Nature Outdoor Writing Contest.

“Seeing the outdoors through the eyes of a child is refreshing,” says Kris Millgate, East Idaho Outdoors editor. “Everyone talks about kids staying inside too much. Let’s talk about kids going outside too much instead.”

Tell us what you like to do outside and why you like to be outside. A panel of professional judges from the Outdoor Writers Association of America will read the entries over the winter. The best stories make the pages of East Idaho Outdoors 2017.
