There are natural hot springs located throughout East Idaho. Green Canyon Hot Springs and Heise Hot Springs are both open to the public year round with natural mineral waters available for relaxing and swimming. These two swimming/soaking facilities are within a half-hour of Rexburg.

Summer at Smith Park in Rexburg is alive with activities and events including art and concert programs, youth baseball and soccer games, the Teton DAM Marathon and more.
The park remains busy during the winter months with small sledding hills and a cleared walking path.

Here’s a name to know: The Madison County Community Council. Its primary purpose is to bring community agencies together and help increase support for various programs that would benefit the youth and families of Madison County. As of the 2008 census, there are 706 acres that have been zoned as industrial in the city limits, 500 acres for light industry and 206 acres for heavy industry. About 20 percent of these acres are vacant and available in parcels ranging in different sizes.

The Menan Buttes, about 15 miles from Rexburg are not actually buttes at all, but volcanic calderas.

Jacob Spori was the first principal of Bannock Stake Academy which began in 1888. Since then, the school has matured into what is now known as Brigham Young University – Idaho, with over 12,500 students.

Ricks College was the largest private junior college in the United States until 2000, when The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced that the school would become a four-year university known as Brigham Young University-Idaho.

There is a jogging/bike path around the city that extends over four miles along with a half mile path around both Smith Park and Porter Park. The highlight of Porter Park is the
Idaho Centennial Carousel and the Rexburg Spray Park. The carousel was renovated in 1990 to commemorate Idaho’s 100th birthday. The carousel has carved horses and 26 repaired horses along with restored chariots.

The Madison County Fairgrounds property is the home of the annual Rodeo and Madison County Fair with display buildings, arena, chutes and a new grandstand located at 203 N. Fifth West in Rexburg. Check it out.
