East Idaho Credit Union has nine branches in eastern Idaho including two offices in Idaho Falls.
What is a Credit Union?
A credit union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. These people are called members. Credit unions are not-for-profit, and exist to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and get loans at reasonable rates.
What is East Idaho Credit Union’s business philosophy?
East Idaho Credit Union is genuinely member and community-minded. Providing responsive, highly competent financial services to all regions it serves, we place a premium on friendly, trustworthy service that puts the members’ best interests above all else.
How do you create a memorable experience for a member?
We have wonderful tellers and front line staff at all of our nine branch locations. They know many members by name and strive to meet their financial needs by being knowledgeable about all products and services the Credit Union offers. Many members have banked with us their entire lives because of the relationship they have developed with the Credit Union and its employees.
How are you “Invested in Community” like your tagline states?
East Idaho Credit Union has always allocated time and resources to important community programs and events. Specifically here in Idaho Falls we support the Sounds Choir annual productions, Development Workshop’s “Festival of Trees” and “Scenic River Classic,” Big Brothers Big Sister’s “Bowling for Kids” and the Chukars baseball team. We’ve even created our own program called “Coins for Christmas” which has given new shoes to underprivileged children for 19 years.
What changes are occurring in your industry?
Credit unions are for everyone, but the law places some limits on the people they may serve. A credit union's charter defines its "field of membership," which could be an employer, church, school, or community. Over the past several years, many credit unions have applied for Community Charters allowing them to serve more people in the communities where they do business. This means credit unions are growing!
