| The New Christy Minstrels were formed by singer/guitarist Randy Sparks in 1961 when they burst onto the folk scene with "a barrage of color-coordinated blazers, starched petticoats, choreographed grins, and stage makeup." For the past four years, Randy Sparks has presided over a faithfully-restored group, reclaiming its rightful place on stage and in the hearts and minds of millions. Sparks says "Life is wonderful! It's so much better than before. We've also been blessed with the age and wisdom that arrives therewith, so we can better appreciate how special is our time on each and every stage. We love what we do!" The New Christy Minstrels are currently performing with eight members including Randy Sparks and Barry McGuire. This class puts on a great show and the teams are serious about their racing. IMCA is a national sanctioning body that governs rules and events across the country.
