The inaugural Rocky Mountain Chickenstock will be held in Idaho Falls on May 5. This event is for serious breeders, casual poultry enthusiasts, 4-Hers and anyone who just wants to learn more about poultry.  It will be held at the Bonneville County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A raffle for some really awesome prizes will be held with the drawing at 3 p.m. Admittance is free to the event.  We will be giving away chicks to all 4-H kids to raise for the fair. You can get more information and sign up for 4-H at the event.

Lance Ellis, MTC is an instructor for the University of Idaho Extension Service and has taught poultry classes all over Idaho, Utah & Wyoming.  He has graciously agreed to come and teach a couple of seminars at our event.  He will be teaching Children’s Poultry – this class was designed for little kids to learn about poultry, more about eggs, where birds are originated from and what they eat. Simple and fun class with a hands on demonstration of a laying hen, eggs, and feed. Then he will teach, Showing poultry at the fair – a whole class for 4-H youth to prepare themselves to show birds at the fair. Includes washing and prepping birds for the fair, answering poultry questions, and how to handle your birds.
