This is the weekend to cheer on your duck at the 22nd annual Great Snake River Duck Race, set for Saturday, Aug. 11.
Since 1991, this Idaho Falls Rotary project has been raising money to help grow and enhance the Greenbelt where the beautiful Snake River makes its way through the heart of town. Typical of the club’s projects, the money raised has been leveraged through grants both public and private.
In the first 12 years, the race raised over $750,000 and was leveraged to over $2 million in Greenbelt development. There are now nearly 6 miles of paved trail, a replica of the Taylor Toll Bridge, and beautiful park amenities.
You can adopt your duck at Broadway Ford, Ingram's Jewelers, Farr's Jewelry, Chamber of Commerce or Brady's.
This year's Grand Prize is a brand spanking new 2012 Ford F-150 pickup, fully loaded, donated by Broadway Ford. First prize is a Sundance Spa valued at $14,600, courtesy of Brady's. Second prize is an Arctic Cat Sno Pro Snowmobile, courtesy of Precision Boats.
