In a Dead Heat

EITC's Great Race returns with 'Zombie Edition'

In a Dead Heat

Returning to Snake River Landing for its fourth year, Eastern Idaho Technical College's Great Race for Education is a large scale scavenger hunt throughout downtown Idaho Falls. Teams of four will pit their wits, physical abilities and clue-solving abilities in this third annual event to benefit the scholarship program offered through the Eastern Idaho Technical College Foundation.

The event will run from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is headquartered on Pier View Drive at Snake River Landing. At approximately 5:30 p.m., an Awards Ceremony will take place and kick off an after-party that will feature food from Stockman’s and a live DJ from A & B Productions. All proceeds of this event will fund scholarships for Eastern Idaho Technical College students. Last year, over $30,000 in scholarship dollars were raised.

Currently teams are in a battle in “Pre-Race” activities around Historic Downtown Idaho Falls.  Thursday, July 19 is the last pre-race challenge, where teams are competing for a free team in next year’s event and clue money in next year’s event. Media outlets can keep up to date by visiting our Face book page at www.facebook.com/thegreatrace and see a list of current teams including INL, Areva, Cargill, Riverbend Communications and more at www.eitcfoundation.org.

Twenty-eight teams are racing in the event and have recruited more than 200 Team Owners that will help their teams solve clues from Snake River Landing headquarters. Team Owner positions are still available. For more information, including interview opportunities with sponsors and students who have been affected by Great Race scholarships, please call EITC Foundation Executive Director Michelle Ziel at 208-524-0464 or michelle.ziel@my.eitc.edu.
