Dramatic in color, composition and emotion, the exhibit includes paintings, works on paper, clay forms and “half-bodies” inspired by dreams chronicled in daily journals by prolific self-taught, Idaho artist Sara Joyce (1923–2011). Often abstract and surreal in nature, Joyce believed in the power of suggestion over representation of the actual.
