Learning to Ski and Snowboard Made Easy

What better place to learn to ski powder than at the resort that averages 500+ inches annually? Grand Targhee Resort’s unbelievable snow, terrain, and PSIA/AASI ski and snowboard instructors make it the best spot in the West to learn for any level! Check out the Ski and Snowboard School to discover your perfect fit program.

January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. Grand Targhee is participating in the national the Learn to Ski and Snowboard/Bring a Friend initiative throughout the month of January. The Resort hopes to help create and build a love of winter sports in everyone.

During the month of January, the 1-2-3 Learn to Ski & Ride Lesson Program is offered to beginner skiers and riders. This package includes three 2-hour group lessons, daily rental equipment, and all-day lift tickets, good on Shoshone and Papoose. Purchase this package and on the completion of your third lesson, you’ll receive a 2018/19 winter season pass! It’s the perfect way to jumpstart your learning or just test the waters, at a great price (some restrictions apply).

But, Targhee doesn’t just focus on teaching and learning in January. Throughout the season, Grand Targhee resort offers daily lessons, lesson programs, package deals, and various camps to get you to where you want to be.

Both group and private lessons are available daily for visitors of all ages and abilities. Discounted packages like the Start Me Up and Tune Me Up programs are also available for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboards. These packages include lessons, rentals, and lift tickets.

Take full advantage of Grand Targhee Resort’s powder in a clinic or camp that is specifically designed to focus on the off-piste portion of the mountain. The Max 3 Powder Up Clinic is available to adults and is a semi-private clinic geared to off-trail skiing and riding. Instructors will coach you through turns and help you tame the powder.

Whether you’re new to powder skiing, want to hone in on your skills, or are simply looking for your next adventure, Grand Targhee’s “Knowledge Is Powder” Off Trail Camps are a great way to explore the mountain and the snow it has to offer. This clinic includes three days of coaching, video analysis, social events, lift tickets, cat skiing, and more at a great value.

Ladies, are you looking for a multi-week program tailored just to you? The Ladies Build Her Up program starts January 15, 2019. Enhance your skiing, snowboarding, Nordic, or tele skiing while supporting other women! This multi-week package gets lady shredders together every Tuesday morning and offers a special deal of 50% off-onsite daycare during your lessons. Grab the ladies and head to the mountain.

Start the kids off Grand Targhee, and they’ll appreciate it for years to come. The Ski and Snowboard School’s Kids Club offers lessons as well as child care throughout the day. Private, group, and multi-week lessons are also available. Pick from many different packages based on your child’s age and abilities. Punch passes are offered for schedule flexibility and convenience as well.

Bobcats and Big Cats are multi-week programs for kids ages 3 ½ to 12 years old. Sessions include four Sundays where they will improve balance, independence, skill, and foster the love for winter sports all while making new friends.

As Mark Hanson, head of Ski and Snowboard School says, “the journey as a skier is a never ending one, there is always more to learn”.
