Here's a little ray of late autumn sunshine for you: Idaho residents pay an average of $343.71 for utilities per month, making us No. 1 on the list of least expensive utilities in the nation.
Other tidbits:
- Hawaii tops the list with the highest average utility cost: $730.86 per month. Compare that to Idaho, which has the lowest average cost at $343.71. That’s a $387.15 difference!
- Electricity costs are significantly higher on the East Coast. This is probably why seven of the top ten states with the most expensive utilities are on the Atlantic Seaboard.
- The average cost of cable is $100, but that may change as more people cut their cable cords and switch to streaming services.
