Don't worry, there are no plans in the works to dig tunnels under the Riverwalk. Subway Restaurants, however, will be out in force this Thursday for an equally ambitious cause.
June 7 marks the restaurant chain's annual Day of Giving. Beginning at 6 p.m., local establishments aim to assist people in need with a free meal, haircut and provide resources for job opportunities.
The event represents a partnership between Subway and the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, which currently serves meals daily to those in need, and provides two emergency shelters.
Volunteers will be serving up to 200 sandwiches and providing haircuts. Supporting volunteers from job services will be providing resources on employment opportunities.
