Got an hour to burn? If so, why not burn some calories? There’s a new fitness opportunity opening this summer that might just be the perfect fit.

Orange Theory, set to open at 2678 E Sunnyside Road, specializes in 60-minute heart-rate monitored training program that is designed to directly stimulate metabolism and increase energy.

You know those days at the gym when you’d rather just set the recumbent bike to Level 5 so you can surf your Instagram feed? Yeah, forget that. “OT” group workouts are known for their intensity as well as the resulting “afterburn,” or continued calorie burn for several hours after the actual workout.

The 3,600-square-foot fitness center in Ammon will feature a dozen treadmills, rowing machines and suspension unit systems. "OT" is also stocked with free weights and benches for sessions for 10 to 25 people. Bike and strider options are also available.

The planned gym -- No. 1049 in OT's sprawling nationwide footprint -- is owned by J&J Fitness IF, LLC. For more details and class schedules, call 208-541-1702.
