The Henry’s Creek Fire blew up on the east bench of Idaho Falls in August 2016. Fireworks caused the blackening of almost 53,000 acres. Nearly 75 percent of Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area burned in the blaze. Tex Creek is prime wintering range for big game and as soon as the smoke settled, recovery by man and Mother Nature started. This is a year of refuge rehab.
