EIO Editor Kris Millgate caught up with Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game this spring to count 50,000 migrating snow geese as they made a spectacular stop here in eastern Idaho.
For IDFG spokesperson Josh Rydalch, the mass-flight layover is encouraging.
“It tells us our management is going in the right direction,” he said, adding that if the birds stop by but don’t find anything, they’ll move along their route sooner rather than later. “But if they’re [here] for longer periods of time and in that type of number, we’re doing something right.”
