Paying for college is tough, so the Eastern Idaho State Fair, in partnership with Butler Amusements, Inc., is awarding scholarships to 2017 graduating seniors. Six $1,000 scholarships will be offered to seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Over $60,000 worth of scholarships has been awarded in the last twelve years.
Students must have participated in the 2016 Eastern Idaho State Fair as a 4-H or FFA member in order to qualify. Recipients are chosen based also on professional and personal goals, honors and awards, community service, student activities, and financial need. Students living in the following counties are encouraged to apply: Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Clark, Custer, Franklin, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, Oneida, Power, and Teton.
Wednesday, March 22, 2017 is the last day to apply for scholarships. Applications must either be mailed to the Eastern Idaho State Fair, P.O. Box 250, Blackfoot, ID 83221, or returned to the Main Office by 3 p.m. on March 22.
