Here's an inspiring twist:
The Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center (IFAHC) is a group known for serving others to help develop a better community. As of late, however, the organization's volunteers were on the receiving end thanks to efforts from local youth.
Garrison Hammer, working on his Eagle Scout Project and Jonathan Gilson, working on his senior project, put in several hours organizing, mapping the IFAC, labeling furniture, moving furniture several times during the process, stripping and refinishing the floor and putting it all back together.
Volunteers from the LDS Lincoln 4th Ward, Boy Scouts of America, Camping World and the LDS 39th Ward also participated in this project. IFAHC Director Don Neville led the group and provided training.
The center was closed the first two weeks in July for cleaning and is now open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the first and third Tuesdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. According to Neville, anyone looking to serve is welcome to drop in and work.
The IFAHC manufactures 70 different items (distributed through area non-profits, churches and schools) to people in need throughout the greater Idaho Falls area.
