Local Edward Jones financial advisor Kevin King has come up with a great way to celebrate the grand opening of the company's new location on Elk Creek Drive. Rather than the typical ribbon-and-baloon festivities, he's giving out a unique opportunity for 50 fellow citizens to do some good with a $20 Pay It Forward Challenge.

Participants not only have the opportunity to Pay It Forward in the community but they can also nominate their favorite local non-profit for a chance for that organization to receive $1,000.

Here are the rules:

  • To participate in the Pay It Forward Challenge, visit King's new office located at 1610 Elk Creek Drive in Idaho Falls on May 17 beginning at 10 a.m. to receive $20 to Pay It Forward and nominate your favorite local 501(c) charity. Participation is limited to the first 50 people. The charities nominated will then be eligible to receive $1,000.
  • You choose how you would like to Pay It Forward. Examples: Buy a meal for those less fortunate, bring tasty treats to the local police or fire station or buy books and donate them to people in transitional housing. You can be as creative as you want.
  • You have one week to fulfill this challenge and share your good deed(s), , on King's Edward Jones' Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EJAdvisorKevinKing.  Members of the community will be able to vote for their favorite nominated charity by visiting the Grand Opening Celebration on May 24 between (time TBD) and casting their vote. Voting closes at (time TBD).

The organization with the most votes will receive $1,000. The winning charity will be announced on May 25 on King's Edward Jones' Facebook page, with a check presentation to follow.

On May 24, members of the community are invited to visit Kevin King's new branch office between (time TBD) to celebrate the Grand Opening. Refreshments will be served.  Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the new facility, meet King and his staff, and vote for their favorite nominated non-profit organization to receive $1,000.

The new branch office is conveniently located in Kensington Park just south of the Sunnyside and Woodruff intersection at 1610 Elk Creek Drive. Regular hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 5:00, Friday 8:00 - 2:00, closed Saturday and Sunday.
