Remember the roars and contrails splashing across our friendly skies back in 2010? Get ready for an encore.

The Blue Angels will be circling back next summer 2017. The Board of Directors of the Idaho Falls Air Show announced this morning that the U.S. Navy's premier demonstration squadron will be headlining the Extreme Blue Thunder Air Show next year on July 22-23.

A special component of next year's celebration, specific to the Extreme Blue Thunder Air Show, will be to honor local veterans for their service to our country. More information regarding this will follow, as the event gets closer.

According to event organizers, the show has the potential of creating over $50,000,000 in economic impact for the region and will bring hundreds of thousands of people to the area. Proceeds from the air show will be donated to different non-profit causes, including the Mayor’s Scholarship Fund for the local graduating seniors pursuing higher education.

If you are interested in helping sponsor this event or serving as a volunteer, contact Nick Gailey at nickgailey@museumofidaho.org for more information.

Note: In response to the concerns over the 2010 air show, spectators will be allowed to bring in their own water.)
