Thanks to Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre, Idaho Falls doesn’t have to follow the second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning – Neverland is coming to Idaho Falls Nov. 13-14 and 16-17. Peter Pan the musical will be performed in our very own Civic Auditorium, and show-goers are in for a treat.

“We’re going to do the full gamut,” said Tina Benson, the show’s director.  “We’re going to fly all of our kids, we’re going to do some fun dance and fight routines inside the show, and we’ve got probably between 80 and 85 members of the cast.”

And yes, Peter and his posse are really going to fly across the stage.  How, you ask?

“[They’ll be] flying with fairy dust and happy thoughts,” stage manager Bonnee Taggart jokingly confirmed after asserting that the flying process is a secret.  However, if you want in on the magic, raffle tickets are for sale and one of the best (although certainly not the biggest) prizes is the chance to fly like Peter Pan and his crew do.  Other raffle prizes include – but are not limited to – a Front Site Training Session, a Pirate Party for 10, a Table Top BBQ from Intermountain Gas and a movie dinner package.

The fun isn’t limited to flying – watch out for a 13-foot alligator, a very small but extremely skilled Tinker Bell and a Peter Pan who so happens to be an expert at Double Dutch jump roping.

As polished and effortless as the actors and actresses might make it seem come show night, this action-packed performance didn’t come together overnight. The production staff and the cast have been hard at work for four nights a week for quite some time.
