Idaho Falls is one of the Top-10 best cities to trick-or-treat, according to SmartAsset, a data analysis company.
To calculate the results, SmartAsset used several metrics, including: density of single-family homes, percent of population under the age of 14, amount of violent crimes and the probability of precipitation.
“Halloweens in Idaho Falls are a bit cooler than those in other top trick-or-treating destinations,” according to SmartAsset. “The city has an average high on October 31st of 53.4 degrees, so by trick-or-treating time expect it to be chilly. On the other hand, Idaho Falls is quite safe, with crime rates well below national averages.”
Though Idaho Falls is a top trick-or-treat location, it is still important to take the necessary precautions to ensure safety.
The Idaho Falls Police Department has shared some Halloween safety tips, including:
-
After dark, children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
-
Trick-or-treaters should wear bright, reflective gear to help them remain visible.
-
Only walk across the street at marked intersections and be sure to look both ways. If you are a driver, be sure to watch for trick-or-treaters.
-
Be sure to wear good shoes to avoid tripping and other injuries.
-
If children are trick-or-treating alone, be sure to map out where they will be going. Make sure they remain in a familiar area.
-
Set a trick-or-treat curfew for your children who are trick-or-treating without an adult.
Halloween is meant to be fun, and when everyone is safe, everyone will have a great time.
